Thigh Lift Procedure
Thigh lift surgery or thigh tightening surgery or the thighplasty procedure reshapes the thighs by reducing excess and fat, resulting in smoother and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. This may be a result of massive weight loss. The amount to be removed varies with each patient.
Fat cells, cellulite, and excess can accumulate on the thighs, making people look heavier, older, and less fit than they actually are. Sagging on the thighs can also make people feel self-conscious about their appearance.
A thigh lift is an excellent way to achieve firmer and more attractive upper legs. But it cannot be labelled as leg fat removal surgery or leg reduction surgery or thigh reduction surgery.
The technique employs liposuction followed by an incision running in the fold where the thigh joins the groin. Some procedures may also require the removal of and tissue down the inner aspect of the thigh towards the knee.
An attempt is made to position the horizontal scar so it runs in a natural crease line. If a vertical scar is required it is placed along a line from the groin to the knee in a manner that will conceal the scar when the leg is against the body. Hence it is known as an inner thigh lift.
This scar may be visible if the leg is uncovered and held out from the other leg. Regulation painkillers, antibiotics, and, in some cases, anticoagulant drugs (which prevent blood clotting) after surgery. In addition, patients are encouraged to wear compression garments that help hold the thighs in place and reduce swelling.
The thigh is an area where the healing is unpredictable and this may result in an unsightly scar.
Having done many such procedures in the past two decades while in the UK and Italy, Dr. Jacob has evolved a more pleasing outcome design of this procedure and thus is regarded as one of the best thigh lift surgeons in the country.
