Yes. A small cut can become dangerous when neuropathy prevents you from feeling it, poor circulation slows healing, or infection develops. The starting size does not reliably predict the risk.<\/p>\n

Immediate first steps<\/h2>\n
  1. Wash your hands.<\/li>
  2. Rinse the cut with clean running water and gently clean around it.<\/li>
  3. Pat dry and cover with a clean dressing.<\/li>
  4. Keep pressure off the area where possible.<\/li>
  5. Check it at least daily and follow your clinician\u2019s wound-care advice.<\/li><\/ol>\n

    Get medical advice promptly<\/h2>\n

    Contact your care team for a cut that is deep, contaminated, caused by a puncture or bite, or does not begin improving. Seek urgent help for spreading redness, warmth, swelling, pus, bad smell, fever, black tissue or bleeding that will not stop.<\/p>\n

    Do not soak the foot, use harsh antiseptics or cut surrounding callus yourself. If sensation or circulation is reduced, professional assessment is the safest approach.<\/p>
